One of the requirements I have from Him is to be more mindful of the products I use and consume. Makeup, soap, cleaning products, and of course, food. This has been an interesting adventure – trying products from the Nature’s Marketplace section of our local Wegmans, exploring the farmer’s markets, making more of our own products, even the hunting I will have to learn to do in the near future.
This has brought me closer to Him, but it has also brought me closer to Kit and to our community. We always food shop together; it’s just one of those things we do. The local farmer’s markets are open Saturday mornings, so we get up, dress, and head out to taste, socialize, smell, peruse, and purchase. And on mornings like this one, the day is gorgeous, birds are chattering, people are out with their dogs (who get lots of attention), strangers are talking to each other about the products, and everyone is having a good time.
I’m surrounded by friends who are looking more into the same, but I’m not sure I would have gone quite this far with it if it weren’t for Him. I’ve found products that I prefer to the old ones, foods that just taste so much better, and just… vibrancy in such simple things. It started with Kit, without whom I wouldn’t have met any of the people who mean so much to me now or come into so much of my own potential. But I think my life has gained even more light and color since He came into it this way. And I thank Him for that. ❤
