Twilight Covening: Butterfly

It’s that time of year again: Twilight Covening.

This year, my assignment is Butterfly. It was my first choice specifically because of its focus: transitions.

We all go through many transitions in our lives, formal and informal, easeful and challenging. A major life transformation can be seen to have phases much like Butterfly’s metamorphosis: Preparation, Letting Go of the Old/Dissolving, Inner Work/Reforming, and Breaking Out to the New. In this Clan we will take the opportunity to visualize and shape that process through creative self-expression – integrating magical tools such as writing, music, movement, and art-making. In doing so our personal transformation may also become fuel for healing ourselves, our communities, and the planet. This Clan is geared for people of all ages who are in any stage of a transition that involves your place in the world.

From lazy casual practitioner to godslave is a huge transition, one I’m still working out. On top of that, The Conundrum draws closer; it’s another major transition, and this will be my first opportunity to discuss it with someone other than Kit. Which will be a massive relief, because dammit, this thing is eating at me and I don’t want to burden him any more than I have to.

Burden Me, is the immediate response in my head from Sir. I keep forgetting that – one more item on the list of Transitions To Work Out. There’s no better place than TC.
